Happy New Year !

Another year is fast ending..... The year to soon be past was good and awful at the same time. It was full of trials and tribulations, troubles, and tears- but we made it thru.

Now, I'm looking forward to 2012.
May it be full of more financial gain concerning the farm.
May Glenn & I both remain healthy and happy with each other.
May the dog, and cats stay with us another year.
May the horses stay happy & healthy as well.
In general, I hope / wish for a better year than this one soon past.

I wish for you, my dear reader, all the joys and prosperity available. I wish that you make all the 'right' choices and that you choose the path to becoming more of a human than you ever thought you could be.

ok- so these are not from a new year's eve celebration- but enjoy  :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Alli, our alarm clock

December 17th...
I have owned "All The Best" since 1999. She is now 29 years old, pure Appaloosa, and the most dear, loving mares I have ever known. She must have a built in wrist watch because each afternoon, around 3:30 or so, she begins reminding me loudly to not forget to come feed her dinner. She stands in various places- in clear view of my office window- and whinnies in that direction. She begins standing closer to the barn, and as the minutes click away, she moves closer to our house....

Eventually moving down a little closer...

She'll even go so far as to peek thru the metal gate designed to keep her Out of the barn during the day:

Below shots were just taken today- it is cloudy out, thus Alli has been yelling for a good while now. She doesn't realize that dinner is at 4:30 PM- NOT when she says.

'A Christmas Tale'

Well, actually our barn party, but that title sounded better... It all began MANY many years ago back in Maryland. I owned a very small farm then but it was in a perfect location. The barn parties began just there- in the Barn. Small, but always fun.... eventually my client list grew to the point where it wasn't wise to have the festivities in the tackroom, so it was moved to our little house. Then there were even More in the next few years! By then, I'd moved to a lovely place and a house with Lots of room- and we needed it, luckily. Many good times were had at those barn /house Christmas parties. Great folks, horse people and kids.... One has to have 'kids' around to make Christmas a little more exciting, right ?

So- here I am, living in Pennsylvania since 2002. A bigger farm, more acreage, and definately a Bigger Barn ! That leaves room for more clients, boarders, students and horse oriented friends. This year we had a housefull. Full of laughter, full of cheer, full of good will and yeah- KIDS. ( AKA- human children) We had yummy food from delicious pies, to cookies, and choices of different sandwiches to eat. Lots of presents to be opened, and some surprises too. All in all, it was a great evening - spent with friends. A perfect way to celebrate such a wonderful holiday.  Below are some photos I got of some of our guests- enjoy :)
